RAAC repairs to come from existing DfE funds

Sunak cut repair budget against department advice, DfE chief claims

No new funds will be provided to fix or replace a slate of more than 100 schools told to close immediately due to fears over structural integrity. 

The Department of Education issued the order to close last week after the collapse of a beam, previously thought to be safe, made of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete.
