Queen visits Paddington station for official opening of Elizabeth line

New line opens to passengers next Tuesday

The Queen made a surprise visit to Paddington station yesterday to mark the completion of the Elizabeth line, ahead of its opening to passengers next Tuesday.

Her Majesty was joined by His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex to unveil a plaque celebrating to mark the long-awaited completion of the Crossrail project.
